Employee Spotlight - October 2021
Meet this month’s Trade Legend, Anastasia Efremenkova, Growth Marketer
Our Marketing team’s key purpose is to show the world how incredible Trade Ledger really are. As a team, they pride themselves in having a deep understanding of our customer’s needs in order to create communications that resonate. From thought leadership and product showcases to customer stories, they do an awesome job giving our brand a voice in a noisy marketplace. As a relatively new team, they are really focused on putting in the foundations of a well-oiled marketing machine so that we can match the strategic growth ambitions of the business. This month we sat down with Anastasia and asked her a whole bunch of questions including why she loves working for Trade Ledger and how she finds life here.
My role at Trade Ledger is:
Growth Marketer. I look after events, marketing partnerships and awards. I am part of the growth squad that sits within the marketing team and is led by our Head of Growth, Lauren Muir.
The reason I joined Trade Ledger is:
I wanted to join a “younger” technology business with big ambitions and enormous potential - and Trade Ledger is exactly that. After my interview with Martin, our CEO, I knew for sure that I wanted to be part of the team - he came across as very passionate and friendly and, most importantly, he clearly knew his stuff and had a strong view on how he wants the business to develop further!
My typical day looks like:
Team catch-ups, internal and external discussions and brainstorming sessions tend to take place in the first half of the day. In the second half of the day, I focus on chipping away some of my current projects. Those projects vary from planning and delivering events and joint marketing activities with partners to applying for awards and documenting and updating processes (love a process!).
The reason I love working at Trade Ledger is:
Oh, there are so many reasons! One of the key reasons is that I feel trusted to do my best work without being constantly monitored or micro-managed. At the same time, I feel valued and supported at every step of the way by all the colleagues and management.
Being an active participant in our culture club and diversity, inclusion and belonging forum allows me to have an impact on the business beyond my role and do what I love most - organise events for people and creating a welcoming and friendly environment for all :)
Despite mostly working from home due to the pandemic, I have managed to meet a number of colleagues in-person and every single one of them is extremely friendly and welcoming. I feel like Trade Ledger has become my second family after just 6 months!
The most challenging part of working at Trade ledger is:
Too many things that could be done! As a growing business, there is always a lot going on at the same time. Sometimes I put my hand up and take one too many projects because all of them are super exciting and interesting. Prioritising helps a lot here.
When i’m not working I like to:
Travel! Even the pandemic has not stopped me from exploring destinations far and near with Spain and Italy being latest destinations I’ve visited. Cape Verde is coming up in December🤞. I love dancing and working out, Zumba and body pump are my go to classes at the gym. Exploring the theatre and art scene of London is another big passion of mine.
Any advice you would give to someone considering joining a start-up / scale-up company?:
You never know until you try it. If an opportunity looks appealing - it is worth giving it a go. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and delivering on your set projects and objectives, the chances that you will love working at a scale up are pretty high.
