Meet this months Trade Legend, Adam Joffe, Engineering
Our Engineering team has some big goals to hit for 2021 as we continue on our journey of revolutionizing business finance by providing the technology and insight to accelerate SME and mid market lending. We asked one of our Lead Engineers a bunch of questions including why he joined Trade Ledger and how he finds life here.
My role at Trade Ledger is:
A Backend Component Lead in the Engineering team.
The reason I joined Trade Ledger is:
When I joined Trade Ledger around 18 months ago, I wanted my work to have a larger impact on solving problems faced by customers. I also wanted somewhere which allowed for freedom to innovate with a product in an emerging field.
My typical day looks like:
Scoping and technical breakdown for upcoming feature work, creating PoCs for innovations and enhancements in the platforms, both technical and features for customers.
The reason I love working at Trade Ledger is:
The culture and environment is far more open and inviting than any place I’ve worked previously. Everyone has a voice, is listened to and has the ability to make a real impact. Jumping in and immersing yourself in the Trade Ledger world is exhilarating.
The most challenging part of working at Trade ledger is:
Being in such a new field, customers have problems that are yet to be fully identified or solved for, so working with this ambiguity and uncertainty can be an interesting challenge.
When I’m not working I like to:
Test out my cooking skills on any dish or idea I can come up with, and shredding any slope that has snow.
Any advice you would give to someone considering joining a start-up / scale-up company?:
If you want to have a direct impact on a market leader, in a newly emerging market then this is the place to be!
